figure drawing class has been a little frustrating. everything seems monotonous now and i feel like i'm not doing any good pieces. i got this back today though, and i kind of like it. one out of a thousand drawings it seems...

MOCA

over the weekend, both MOCA locations (grand ave & geffen) began their current exhibition entitled, "COLLECTION: MOCA'S FIRST THIRTY YEARS." their gala for the "important" rich people was held on the opening day. lady gaga was even there performing on a damien hirst painted piano. i'm going this weekend. it's gonna be awesome.

these days i've been pretty much the broke college student again. no full-time job means no impulsive shopping. but with these...i just HAD to. eric koston oakley frogskins in a black/grey woodgrain (there's a woodgrain texture to the frame itself too!). i'm excitied. i ordered them this morning so i hope they'll be here by...mon/tues?! oh and i met this really nice girl yesterday and i think she's pretty great : )

mediocre..

so i'm taking a figure drawing class right now. its a lil tough because of course the models aren't perfectly proportionate like the models you see on Tv and in the movies. also, to justify my mediocrity, we only have like 10-30 mins for many of the poses so you have to be pretty quick with it. works are done in inks, charcoal, graphite, prismacolor markers, and prismacolor pencils. i also posted up some of my stuff from design class (the cartoon is of princeton from ave. q) as well as my drawing of Common's Be cover (its the only piece i've done outside of classes lately and pretty much the only piece i'm really proud of since high school).
